An online self-sponsored short term certificate course on “Nanoinformatics for Biomedical Applications (NBA- 2021)” is going to be organized by the Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad (IIIT-Allahabad) from 27-29th August, 2021. NBA-2021 aims to bring eminent experts from the field of Nanotechnology in order to showcase the recent progress and innovation in the allied areas of Nanotechnology involving the development of novel therapeutic agents and diagnostic methods. Nanotechnology flourishes greatly due to its association with the Information technology. The combination of Material sciences and Information technology provides a great opportunity to explore how quantum-effect varies with size and structural features of nanomaterials that are responsible for unique optical, chemical, and biological properties of nanomaterials. This also helps in understanding the interactions of nanomaterial with complex living systems and role of dimensionality in cellular responses. Thus, an insightful understanding of basic principles of Material sciences with help of Information technology provides huge scope for nanotechnology based drug designing and therapeutic strategies essential for the betterment of human healthcare. The lectures and hands-on-trainings in NBA-2021 will cover basic features of Nanoinformatics and its applications in numerous biomedical fields.

Medical imaging is a multi-disciplinary research field. We have observed tremendous progress in medical imaging as technology continues to advance at a rapid rate. This has even got huge momentum due to crosstalk among various research fields like biotechnology, nanotechnology, biomedical, electronics, instrumentation, computer science and information technology making biomedical imaging as one of the most happening research fields. New research outcomes are emerging out every day from international and national laboratories which may offer better preventative solutions. There are several research groups in India who are very active in this field- solving many brainstorming problems as well as addressing various socially relevant clinical issues. The aim of this workshop is to bring young researchers from various institutes under a common platform where they will be able to present their work as well as get an opportunity to listen to the senior delegates of this field. They will also become aware of current research activities pursuing by leading groups and challenges in this field.
